The Testing Corner

When Pretend is ready for a play test, it will be hosted here.

Alpha Test (June 17):  This is the first play-test we'll be conducting.  This version of the game will include mostly temporary artwork and most likely a lot of bugs.  We're looking for criticism on the general game flow and overall player experience.  The critiques should answer questions like: "Is this fun to play?", "Is it easy to understand the controls?", "Do the controls even make sense?", etc.

The first of the Alpha Tests are ready!  I'll be updating and re-uploading the swf file as critiques come rolling in.


Beta Test (n/a): This is the second play-test.  This version will have all finalized artwork and assets plugged into the game and updated and/or optimized code (with fewer bugs).  We're looking for criticism on the game's visual style, general game flow, and overall player experience.  The critiques should answer questions like: "Does the art style make sense for this type of game?", "Do all of the pieces look okay when placed together?", "Does the user interface make sense?", etc.

Charlie Test (n/a): This is the third and final play-test.  This version should be just about complete with all finalized artwork and code.  Critiques can include anything and everything.

Final Test (n/a): This is not actually a test, but more of a run-through of the final version of the game.  This is for the team to personally test the game to make sure it is worth distributing to the public.  This will be the version of the game hosted for distribution.

If you're interested in testing for us, please keep in mind that there will only be ONE version of the game hosted at a time.  It will be uploaded on the date mentioned above, and removed when the next version gets uploaded.  The final version will remain on this page after the event.  All release notes and bugs are mentioned on their individual test pages.
